What do we do?

This development center is founded by, Joyce Peralta, a Dominican-American woman raised in New York, who completed her B.A in the Language and Culture area, with a focus in Spanish. Her work has particular interest around the deconstruction and rebuilding of social ideals within Latin-American communities, which she believes to be imminent in the fight for the advancement of historically disenfranchised peoples. Joyce feels passionate about the power of shared knowledge, and has created El Estudio in hopes of creating a space for community to exchange ideas and receive encouragement to create their own. Her volunteer experience working with local youth in Districts 6 and 12 in the Bronx informs her desire to make real, lasting change in people's lives, despite and in consideration of their economic status, education level, or social background.
